Entrepreneurship Management Development Program on Branding in Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME)

As part of the joint initiative to promote and nurture entrepreneurship among Micro and Small Enterprises (MSE), Kautilya Entrepreneurship and Management Institute (KEMI), Jain University, Bangalore and LaghuUdyog Bharat, Karnataka Chapter (LUB-K) conducted an Entrepreneurship Development Program at the university premises. The theme of the program was “Branding in Micro and Small Enterprises”. Faculty members from KEMI, office bearers of LUBK and several enthusiastic entrepreneurs from the MSE category attended the event.

The event was divided into two segments. In the first segment Prof. MithileshwarJha, Director, KEMI and a world-renowned marketing expert engaged the audience with in-depth insights into the nuances of branding for MSEs. He gave examples of how several brands promoted by MSEs competed with multinational brands and made it big in the Indian market. He urged the MSEs to move away from a commodity mindset and focus on long-term investment in brand building. He also addressed questions raised by the audience that included creation of brands in the business-to-business (B2B) context.

Post the tea break the entrepreneurs, LUBK and KEMI team members had a healthy interaction on furthering the engagement. Mr.B.S.Srinivasan, Vice President, LUB-K apprised the audience about LUB-K’s intent in assisting MSEs in their future endeavours. The participants raised pertinent issues with respect to marketing their products and services to OEMs, developing holistic strategies for better performance of their enterprises and how KEMI can work with them for achieving growth.
