LUB-Karnataka: Knowledge Capsules thru Webinars
By February 2020, very few knew that Corona Virus even existed. Now the virus has spread to almost every country, infecting several lakh people and the count is increase showing no sign of abetment. It has crashed economies and broken health-care systems, filled hospitals and emptied public spaces. And yes, it has brought public transport to a complete shut down and making people stay completely indoors. In as much as we do not know how or when this pandemic will come to an end, one thing is evident, that tough times are just beginning. The days ahead seem darker, politically, economically, and of course health-wise as well.
The most impacted sector due to Covid-19 outbreak is Micro and small businesses, their employees and their clientele. From supply chain interruptions, loss of man-hours, slower sales; the epidemic has negatively impacted a major chunk of the industry cutting across business verticals.
The need of the hour when the lockdown was announced, was that instead of panicking, business owners need to breathe, sit down, plan, and be proactive. Now is not the time to be a deer caught in headlights, rather get their pathways changing, by way of rethinking business models and strategizing ways and means to sustain and scale up post Covid.
Precisely keeping this in the mind the Office Bearers of LUB-Karnataka swung into action and took a conscious decision to keep members engaged and well prepared to face the pre and post Covid situations by way of organising webinars.
Though it started with an apprehension on the premise that who will attend the knowledge capsule in the form of Webinars series, it turned out to be excellent platform for members to join at the designated hour of 4-5 pm every day to get expert advice from domain experts on varied topics all focusing on MSME sector. Precisely every day the attendees for the webinar crossed the capped 100 mark so much so, that many attendees had to wait in the Webinar room to join.
The Series where addressed by politicians, Government officers, industry leaders, domain experts and professionals who spoke on critical issues facing the MSMEs and illustrated how establishments can re-strategize and adapt to the new disruptive business environment and also the evolving neo business environment post-covid.
Issues related finance, taxation, sales, marketing, preparedness strategies, Pep and motivational talks, future trends and prophesies were some of the topics touched upon by these leaders in the one-hour session daily. Usually the webinar was designed on three parameters, one overview of the topic, two deep-dives on the subject and the third Open session for the attendees. The basic objective of this Member-Connect initiative by LUB-Karnataka was to facilitate knowledge sharing as well as networking between participants.
