Dr. Sachin B Sabnis, President Laghu Udyog Bharati-Karnataka was the invited as a special invitee at the inauguration of Marposs Tech Centre which opened its office in Bengaluru.

The Consul General of Italy in Bangalore, Alfonso Tagliaferri took part in the inauguration of the new Tech Center of Marposs, the Bologna-based company, a global leader in the supply of state-of-the-art solutions for quality control and precision measurement, operating in India since 1981.

The 400 square metre space will host offices and a tech centre where customers will be able to take advantage of the company’s most advanced technologies, including the development of ‘tailor-made’ solutions for the specific needs of the local market.

Marposs India has a branch office in Delhi, offices and service centres in Gurgaon, and is present in six other cities: Manesar, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Jamshedpur, Pune and Bangalore; with 120 employees it has a turnover of about 20 million Euros.

The most important business sectors are automotive (about 50 per cent of the turnover), with the remaining half divided between mechanical components and machine tool applications.

Francesco Possati, Vice President of Marposs, says: “Marposs sees great potential in India, for the reasons shared by the President of the European Commission and the Indian Prime Minister a few days ago. The opening of the Bangalore centre responds exactly to this need. The centre will be the second in the world – after the one in California – focused on specific R&D activities on semiconductors and consumer electronics, leak tests on batteries, and on the latest technologies for quality control of components for the aerospace industry”.
